Director of Nursing

Director of Nursing needed to lead inpatient acute care, swing bed program and outpatient services of a 64 bed acute care hospital:
Directly responsible for all IP and Swing Bed nursing services. Organization, planning, development, scheduling, and evaluation of nursing resources. Maintains nursing policies & procedures to ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies. Works to educate nursing staff regarding proper procedures and ensures that all policies are properly followed. Directs other staff including case management, utilization review, clinical administration and employee health.
Works as the part of the executive management team responsible for the hospital's clinical operations. Participates in all oversight review committees including medical staff, quality, performance improvement, pharmacy & therapeutics, infection control and environment of care. Works with (and may be given oversight responsibilities for) areas including pharmacy, Surgery, ER, Laboratory, Radiology, Therapy, Hospice, EMS and Medical Staff.
Strong advocate accountable for exceptional clinical excellence and patient safety across the entire organization. Engages others to foster patient, employee and physician satisfaction.

Background and Competencies Desired:
Need a professional, organized, self-directed individual who is skilled at working in a dynamic environment. A leader who is able to step-in and work side-by-side with nursing staff during times when census exceeds available resources. Ability to proactively work with all levels of the organization (from staff to physicians).
Working knowledge of nursing staff resource utilization which balances patient needs and efficient use of hospital staff. Ability to identify staffing needs, recruit qualified staff and create an environment that promotes employee commitment to the hospital and community.
Nursing leadership/management background within a similar size or larger organization. Competent in compliance with Medicare Conditions of Participation and regulatory guidelines from the Oklahoma State Department of Health which governs acute care hospitals. Familiar with core measures, quality indicators, trauma registries and pay-for-performance initiatives.
Ability to interpret policies, apply rules and regulations. Development and revision of policies as required. Ability to effectively communicate policy interpretation or revisions across the organization.
Experience documenting in, and building processes around, electronic health records, pyxis, pacs and other related systems.

Qualifications:
Registered Nurse with Oklahoma License. Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing. BSN preferred.
Three to five (3 - 5) years' experience in a nursing management/leadership role. Clinical experience in similar size or larger acute care hospital. Career track shows progression of clinical experience to higher levels of leadership and responsibility. Previous DON experience preferred.
Knowledge of EHR, Pyxis, Pacs and other related systems. Experience with CPSI EHR preferred. Experience with SQSS compliance software and Lippincott nursing education software applications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
